OTHER ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS NEAR SPLENDOUR
Looking for somewhere to rest after the non-stop dancing you’ll be doing over the Splendour weekend? Before you go shuffling into the bushes with a damp blanket, there are plenty of accommodation options to suit all budgets, from tight ass, to treat yo self, to ‘mum’s’ paying’.
Did you know that Splendour is running buses from Coolangatta? If you choose to base yourself on the Gold Coast there are a range of travel options, like catching the bus. Buses will operate to and from locations with frequent bus shuttle services including Kingscliff, Tweed Heads, Coolangatta and Kirra. More info on buses to come!
OFFSITE ACCOMMODATION
If you are new to camping and think it sounds like a great way to spend the weekend, there are plenty of options that are close to town, the festival and have Splendour bus stops nearby. Best to book early as campsites and cabins sell out fast. Check out te following:

Perks: Walking distance to Byron Bay’s array of restaurants, bars and beaches. Easy to get the shuttle to the festival.
Broken Head Holiday Park, Broken Head
Situated on the beachfront of Broken Head, just seven kilometres south of Byron Bay, Broken Head Holiday Park is surrounded by national park and stunning views. Perfect for a more chilled and laid-back holiday, the park offers cabins, shacks, powered and unpowered sites.
Perks: Close to nature, seconds to the stunning Broken Head beach and quiet.
Clarke’s Beach Holiday Park, Byron Bay
An easy ten minute walk into Byron and to the Splendour bus stop, this park is great if you want to be close to the beach and not far from town. There is a range of camping and cabins available.
Perks: Location, Clarkes beach is one of the best in Byron. You’d want to get in quick though, as this place books up super fast!
Located less than one kilometre from the airport, Kirra Beach Tourist Park is in prime position for either your tent, cabins or caravans and is even dog friendly, if you’re someone who couldn’t bear to leave your best friend behind over the weekend. Not only are there awesome surf breaks, but there is also a thriving cafe scene, shops and restaurants all within a five minute walk.
Perks: Connecting buses to the Splendour grounds
Casablanca At Bogarts, Byron Bay
These well-appointed two bedroom, three bathroom apartments are beautifully designed and come with fully equipped kitchens, spa baths and a sofa bed for the ring-ins. Although they are on the slightly more pricey, you can squeeze a few people in each, so it doesn’t smash your bank account. Right in the heart of town and only a two minute stroll to the beach, Casablanca is a wise choice.
Perks: Beautiful, stylish apartments in a great location. Easy to get to the festival.
Bluewater on the Beach, Belongil
This beautiful place is perched on the dunes of Belongil Beach, only a short stroll from Byron Bay. Choose from four absolute beach-front bungalows or two rear-set houses, surrounded by tropical gardens and a manicured lawn area, perfect for Splendour pres. If you have enough friends, you can book out the entire place. This one of those holiday houses you wish your parents invested in the 1990’s when the property was still affordable.

Oaks Calypso Plaza, Coolangatta
Equipped with water slides and a huge swimming pool, Oaks Calypso Plaza offers affordable accommodation right near the beach and Gold Coast airport. With spacious rooms, some with ocean views and self-catering apartments, Oaks Calypso Plaza is perfect those wanting to cook up some pre Splendour sustenance and lie around the pool pre-festival.
Perks: ‘Water slides’ and ‘lagoon pool’ say no more. Splendour will have buses running to and from Coolangatta.

Don those wraparound sunnies and crack the Moet and soak up this magnificent Balinese-style home that sleeps 12 and comes with a stunning pool, lush landscaped gardens, and a private track to the beach. Matched perfectly with a VIP Village festival ticket and you’re well on your way to having one very fancy and fun festival.

If you are looking for a beach front house, away from the hustle of Byron and situated right near the stunning Brunswick Heads and Ocean Shores beaches and rivers, this place is right up your alley. With huge decks, an outdoor spa, four bedrooms and tropical gardens, Whalesong has excellent photo opportunities for all the selfies you’re going to take strolling about the place.
